The Southern Illinois Breastfeeding Coalition’s purpose is to promote breastfeeding as the best choice of infant feeding through promotional activities and education to professionals and the community.


SIBFC promotes professional and public awareness of new and existing trends and research in breastfeeding.

Acting as advocates and empowering families to make informed infant feeding choices.

Alexander, Clay, Crawford, Edwards, Effingham, Fayette, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Johnson, Lawrence, Marion, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Richland, Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne, White, and Williamson 

Coalition projects

Annual Coalition projects include distributing World Breastfeeding Week mini grant funds, operation of the Mobile Nursery Unit for the Illinois State Fair in Du Quoin, and distribution of breastfeeding resource materials.
